I live in Arizona. The frames on the windows that face west get extremely hot inside the house. I have sun screens installed and the aluminum frame touches the exterior window frame thus transferring all the heat. To avoid replacing the window I’m considering installing 1/2 inch foam board on top of the window frame and set the screen over that. Seems it should help reduce the heat transfer and I can cover the entire frame with the foam. Has anyone tried this or seen stories of those who have? Appreciate any insight.
