I had a door installed, about a year ago, that leads from my garage to the main house. It has the new security hinges on it. I cannot tap out the hinge pin as there is a top and bottom to the hinge that is larger than the hole.

Well, the hinges started squeaking and my typical solution is to tap the pin out (which seems impossible now) and coat the pin with silicone grease, and reinstall. This solves the issue for a few years and it easy enough to repeat. No real mess either.

Any ideas how to solve this issue with the security pins?

There's nothing magic about silicone in this case. Any household oil will do the job with no fuss. Just wipe the hinge down when you're done to prevent dust accumulation.

I use 3-in-1. Put a drop at each seam, wiping away any drips, then operate the door a few times.

This silicone spray will get in the gaps and do the job.

You no longer need to disassemble any hinge. Just be careful of any overspray, as any surface coated with silicone will not take paint or stain if needed.

Remove one hinge and soak in a fresh can of warm to just liquid paraffin for an hour, working the hinge periodically. You only need about an inch of liquid. Wipe and re-install.

Be sure to not damage the screw head and before reinstalling, place a matchstick in the hole and cut off flush with a razor knife. It helps to use a small amount of wood glue on the matchstick. This keeps the screw hole from growing and it will accept the same size screw over and over.

This method has worked for the past 50 years for this retired building contractor with no callbacks. Do not carelessly force the hinge or risk chipping the door if it's wooden.
