I need to replace the front door on my 1960's brick ranch house. Lowe’s measured and the door jamb is 5 3/4 therefore the $450 stock door I had chosen will not work.

Quote for custom door is $1,680. Installation labor and materials quote by Lowe’s contractor is $1,200. Grand total of $2,880 for a new front door.

For those who understand this type of home improvement - does this sound right?

Is there anything I can do to fix the door jamb issue or am I stuck buying a super expensive door?

TIA

A standard size exterior door jamb is 4 9/16. A good carpenter can make that work with brick mould /and or other moulding.
