I’m planning to install external thermal insulation on a brick house using EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) boards. I intend to use polyurethane foam adhesive to attach the EPS, but I’m concerned about the unevenness of the brick wall surface where mortar joints are uneven or where bricks are slightly misaligned, creating gaps or bumps of up to 1–2 cm.

Could anyone advise on how to address wall unevenness when using polyurethane foam as the adhesive? Are there specific techniques, tools, or products that can help create a flat and even surface for the insulation? For example, should I use leveling compounds, shims, or adjust the application of the foam adhesive?

Any tips, suggestions, or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated!
