I have a GE Cooktop (Model JP5036DJ2BB), which has touch surface controls (no knobs), with a burner that is stuck on high no matter what temp I set it to.

Any idea what this could be due to?

Settings will be the death of all of us! Have you tried just resetting to default, or had a look at the manual trouble shooting? It could be due to a power fluctuation in your area. I hope this is helpful. https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/JP5036DJBB/troubleshoot
