I noticed a hole in the bottom of our patio door frame on the exterior side. The frame is painted wood. I'd like to fill it up but I'm not sure what to use. It's roughly 1.5" x 1.5" x 1". Definitely too big for caulk but what else can I use that's paintable and would hold up well in the Texas heat and rain? Would something like DAP plastic wood work for this?

Cut the bottom 2-3" with an oscillating tool. Replace with a piece of PVC trim cut to size. Seal off with exterior-grade siliconized caulk.
