Dishwasher waste hose is currently just floating around in the sink cabinet. The top of its bend is higher than the disposal unit it's attached to, but not by much. I'd like to raise it all the way up so it's essentially pressed against the underside of the kitchen counter, but the sink takes up so much space I have little room to wield a hammer or screwdriver.

I'm aware of the J shaped pipe hangers with the long tail - something like that would be great, because I could put my fastener in on the part of the cabinet that's accessible underneath the sink, but of course it would need to be upside down for that to work, and then the drain hose could fall right out. Is there such a thing as a y shaped pipe hanger? Or anything like that, where I can fasten it well below the pipe (18" or so)?

Many solutions. The easiest one may be to simply get a length of material (wood, plastic, etc.), i.e. a stick, and use the tip of the stick to jam the high loop of the hose up next to the sink. (Obviously you leave the stick in place.) Use something wide enough to jam between sink and cabinet and stay there.

You're overthinking this. Use a bit of rope and any eye screw or other small bracket as an anchor. This gives you convenient and infinitely adjustable positioning.

If the rope creates a pressure point on the tubing, add a plastic support plate, taped in place. This could be cut from an empty coffee can, for example, and layered as necessary like a leaf spring. Or use two ropes.
