This is growing in a brick in my backyard. I'm not sure what it is. Does someone have an idea? It is shaped like a small Chinese tree.

I could be mistaken, but based on the picture, this looks like it might be a fungus. Here are the reasons why I think so:
- Color: The red hue is atypical for most plants, especially with no green parts visible.
- Location: It appears to be growing on a brick, which is more common for fungi that thrive in damp environments.
- Structure: While it may resemble leaves at first glance, the structure seems too dense for a young tree.
I can't be completely sure, but this could possibly belong to the Ramaria genus. More photos may be needed for a more specific identification.
