The mold I described in this question appeared again this year on the seeds of another new variant of my cranberry, after temperature go up 10 ℃ these days.

For this specific question, I want to know, what kind of mold is this? And whether is it harmful to the seed/seedling? What can I do if it is harmful?

I have put down the seeds on wet peat for 5 days, and only after it get warmed today, mold grew all out of a sudden in less than 12 hours. I am sure I am using healthy market-bought seeds, and the soil medium is fully boiled to sterilize, and use a clean glass bowl to isolate it from air. But this mold still appear this year.

The picture is roughly 5 cm in width. The long white thin mold fiber winds and covers half seeds. They smell like winemaking residues.

There are literally hundreds of possibilities for what it is, and making a positive ID would be nearly impossible without genetic testing. I would however remove the bowl - it would be creating a warm damp environment that encourages mould growth. Take it away and expose the medium to fresh air; this should keep the mould to a minimum.
