I repotted my snake plant the other day, from 12 in pot to 13 in pot, using succulent soil. I haven't watered it yet. The leaves are spreading and the larger ones on the outside are falling over and it did this immediately. I have them loosely braced with a piece of twine now. Did I do something wrong or is this normal and it will correct itself?

You didn't do anything wrong. These plants grow outside in full sun in soil that ranges from sandy to rocky depending on the species. What they all prefer is a soil that drains well.
They spread by rhizomes which are fleshy roots close to the surface. They do not have a tap root like a tree and in low light can get a bit leggy or etiolated.
The combination of lots of top foliage and a shallow root system can give floppy stalks as you have found. Keep the string around them, provide as much light as possible and water sparingly until they are growing again.
