After several parking mistakes, I'm want to add cameras to the front and sides of my sedan to aid in parking. RV backup camera systems check a lot of boxes for me including the availability of
- Large displays not built into the rear-view mirror
- Ability to see 3 or more camera feeds simultaneously
- Sub $500 options.
However, I worry that RV backup cameras might be calibrated to work at longer distances and therefore not function well for use on a sedan. In addition, would the relative bulkiness of the cameras significantly effect aerodynamics and therefore mileage? Are there any other issues that'd prevent an RV camera system from working well on a sedan? Thank you in advance!
Other info:
- I drive a Toyota Avalon 2015 limited
- According to a car audio technician, my car's proprietary camera protocol prevents adding additional cameras to the car's dashboard.
- I'm considering the Fookoo DY103 and ASLONG 4K Backup Camera 4CH systems on Amazon.
