This tag was added to cover the extremely strong magnets with breakaway forces of, e.g. 60 lb. Such fasteners are available with mounting holes or without, and are square, rectangular, or circular. They're often sold in packs of 8, 12, 50 and so on on the industrial and scientific section of a popular online bookstore.

Can you safely use a magnetic switch with LED strips?

Magnetic switches I've found have very low current ratings, like 0.5A. Typical LED strips draw up to 4A. These two seem to be incompatible, yet I see people connecting magnetic switches to LED strips. Am I missing something?

Could Velcro be use to install secondary glazing rather than magnets?

Does anyone know why secondary glazing (ie perspex sheets fitted inside the window) are typically connected to the windows with magnetic strips? I'm wondering if anyone has used velcro strips instead, and what the downsides are?
